Two are the valleys part of the Mountain Community and surely two are the much in demand destinations.
First of all, the Fortress of Fenestrelle, erected by king Vittorio Amedeo II in defense against the French and the Scopriminiera in Salza Pinerolo/Prali where a little train leads us in the heart of the mountain, with helmet, cape and lamp, in the contrast between the dark of the gallery and the white of the talc, among testimonies of 200 years of work and ancient mining structures.
Furthermore, there is a very rich cultural legacy linked to the work: ancient customs, typical villages, flour mills, sundials, historical fountains, industrial archaeology and air-raid shelters. |
